Peru is a unique, magic, marvelous and mysterious country, and in recent years it has been recognized by world travelers as one of their favorite choices. That is why each year the number of visitors has increased as much as its reputation. The kindness of its people, the diversity of its tourist attractions and the richness of its gastronomy have made this possible.

COOKING CLASS IN CUSCO

Our chef will provide an introduction to Peruvian culinary culture, touching on the history, biodiversity and geography while explaining the different concepts and gastronomical theories surrounding it.

COLORS, AROMAS AND TEXTURES Our interpretive “market” space provides all of the products one may find at the local San Pedro Market but in an organized, clean and safe manner. This is a concentrated space with Peruvian potato varieties, diverse types of aji peppers, corn and quinoa, among many other products.

THE EXOTICS Because of its tropical location, Peru is home to many tropical fruit varieties and during this stop we will have the opportunity to enjoy sweet, acidic and semi-sour seasonal fruits.

A SEA OF FLAVORS Our first dish will be a delicate Peruvian ceviche made using fresh coastal fish with a mix of local ingredients that make it unique and unforgettable.

WOK-ING TIME After the demonstration and instruction given by our chef, all of the participants will prepare their Lomo Saltado utilizing wok sautéing techniques. We will then enjoy our meal and provide the recipes for the dishes prepared during the class.

PISCO SOUR During this step we will enjoy Peru’s prized liquor while learning its intriguing history. To finish this step, we will prepare our Pisco Sour and Chilcano de Pisco.

Having exploded onto the global food scene, Peru is now widely regarded as one of the world’s principal food travel destinations. In the morning, you will head off to the local market with your private chef to buy local ingredients and learn about the amazing Peruvian food.

Later, take a walking tour of Lima’s key historical sites. One of the main fascinations of Lima is the concentration of ancient history in the area; the origins of the city pre-date the Spanish foundation of the city by several millennia. Begin to unravel this multifaceted history and discover the complex past of this fascinating city with a visit to the colonial area of Lima, featuring the Cathedral (closed on Sundays), the Convent of Santo Domingo, and the Main Square, with its beautiful baroque-style buildings. You will also visit Larco Herrera Museum, considered one of the best museums in the world. After your visit you will be privately transferred to the hotel.
