OPTION 1: SACRED VALLEY – MORAY AND SALT MINES
Travel up and down off-road terrain through the Sacred Valley. Maras salt mines, agriculture fields, Andean terraces and villages.
After picking you up from your hotel we will transfer you to Cruzpata on Maras plateau, where we will start our mountain bike adventure enjoying lovely views of impressive Andean peaks, many cacti plants and Andean villagers on their daily activities. Then we will visit the Inca experimental agricultural terraces of Moray. Enjoy a delightful picnic lunch, where we will savor dishes made with locally grown produce. Proceed on a dirt road to Maras, where we can stop and visit the salt mines. Finally, we will end our adventure in Pichingoto. Return to the hotel. (B, L)
OPTION 2: YUNCAYPATA TO PUMAMARCA
We start riding only 20 minutes from the center of Cusco, at the site of Tambomachay. From here, our route takes us through ravines, eucalyptus forests, small villages and extensive agricultural fields. The pleasant sensation of exercise on the gentle up-hills is compensated for by the exhilaration of the down-hills.
On the way, we visit the Pumamarca Hacienda, an ancient Inca palace converted into an impressive Spanish colonial Hacienda house, which remains in place today, silent testimony to its history.
